Dr Tam Dieu
Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon
Dr Tam Dieu graduated from Monash University medical school, in 1991 and awarded the Association of Monash Medical Graduates Award as the Most Valuable Medical Student. He successfully completed the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship exam in May 2003. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and a member of the Australian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS). Dr Tam Dieu is currently appointed as Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Eastern Network, including Box Hill and Maroondah campuses and privately at Epworth Eastern Private Hospital Box Hill and South Eastern Private Hospital Noble Park.

Academically, he had undertaken research towards a PhD degree at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Royal Children’s Hospital and Melbourne University. The research project focused on the molecular biology and embryogenesis of the brachial plexus. He was awarded the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Foundation ANZ Journal of Surgery Scholarship in 2004. He was past president of the Victorian chapter of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has published widely in peer-reviewed international journals; and also attended and presented at Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery conferences in the USA, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Dr Tam Dieu believes in continuously learning and growing as a professional surgeon for the benefit of both himself and his patients.
Dr Tam Dieu’s other passions
Although Dr Dieu is passionate about plastic and reconstructive surgery, he is also passionate about his beautiful family and and human rights. Along with Sir James Gobbo and Patti Newton, Dr Tam Dieu is a part of the Melbourne Refugee Sanctuary Group INC. (MRSG)
